GRiT Adult Skills Clinics

We are excited to extend an amazing opportunity to 20 new/beginner female coaches!

As part of our Regional GRiT Events we will be hosting two GRiT Adult Skills Clinics to provide a safe, supportive and empowering event for new or beginner Level 1 or 2 female coaches to connect and develop their fundamental bike handling skills.

These clinics will be held on the following dates:

  1. Saturday, March 13th at Harris Lake County Park, New Hill, NC
  2. Saturday, March 20th at Salisbury Community Park, Salisbury, NC

Space for each clinic is limited to 10 participants.

We ask that interested coaches fill out this application by Saturday, March 6th. If you are awarded a spot in one of the clinics, you will receive an email with full details about the event you applied for, no later than Tuesday, March 9th.

These clinics will instill competence and confidence in fundamental riding skills for those new to riding and/or coaching, or who consider their riding ability to be at a beginner level (not intermediate or advanced). These events will be held the Saturday ahead of a Regional GRiT Event and ride. These events are beginner skills clinics and will NOT provide OTBS 101 certification for participants or guidance on how to coach skills.

We are hopeful that after participating in the GRiT Adult Skills Clinic participants will be encouraged and empowered to join the Regional GRiT Event in their area, feel more confident in their abilities as a coach, and even just enjoy getting out to ride with their families more.

By attending the GRiT Adult Skills Clinic and the Regional GRiT Event we hope new/beginner coaches will also enjoy the space and time to build and strengthen their network of fellow female coaches, connections to local teams, familiarity with trails used by local NICA teams, and foster a strong overall female cycling community in each region.

Our GRiT Adult Skills Clinics (an opportunity valued at $150-200 per person) will be provided to participants, free of charge, through Rapha grant funding awarded to our GRiT Program.

It is our hope that this investment of a significant portion of our grant funding will help to empower, recruit and retain more female coaches who are new to mountain biking, by providing an inclusive and equitable opportunity to learn and grow.

Space for each clinic is limited to 10 participants.

We ask that interested coaches fill out this application by Saturday, March 6th. If you are awarded a spot in one of the clinics, you will receive an email with full details about the event you applied for, no later than Tuesday, March 9th.
