All Middle School and High School students attending school in North Carolina are eligible to join a team!

2024 Season Registration is open through 15 June 2024

Fee: $250 per rider. Season Registration includes…practices and rides led by NICA Certified Coaches , Teen Trail Corps Opportunities and Awards, Girls Riding Together (GRiT) Programming Statewide mountain bike advocacy and development. Professionally-led coach education and development. Discounts on gear and bikes from NICA’s amazing sponsors including up to 20% off the cost of a bike from our partners! And much more!

2024 Event Registration

The “All In” Discount package is no longer available. Student athletes may still register for each individual event up until the event registration deadline.

NCICL’s state level events are wonderful weekends of riding and family fun that feature competition, adventure, or both with a format and feel like nothing else in cycling. These locations across the state bring together 1500+ participants, coaches, family members, and volunteers on trails ideal for NICA events. Student athletes attending event weekends with their team must register in Pit Zone using the options below. Registration for the event includes all league activities for the weekend, including race registration. Registration for these events include all league activities for the weekend (race registration, course inspection, Adventure, and GRiT). Some activities may require separate, no-cost registration in Pit Zone to help the league manage numbers and ensure an awesome experience. All In: Discounted Event Package

A La Carte: choose your event

  • Great for student-athletes who plan to attend 3+ event weekends.
  • Helps NCICL with accurate participation numbers for planning and staging.

After 25 Feb, all event registration will be A La Carte.

Opens: 13 November 2023

Closes: 11:59pm Sunday before the event

  • Great for student-athletes who plan to attend 1 – 2 event weekends.

In PitZone, choose Event #6, #9, #12, #15, #19 and #22 all at once.

Discount will be applied when selecting all of these events at once. Make sure you have selected all of these events before checking out.

Refunds

The league will not refund event registration payments, even if the event is canceled. Event registration remains open until the Sunday prior to the event so you can consider your schedule prior to signing up. In the event of a cancellation the league will use your event payment to cover costs already incurred to support the event or reinvest those funds into league programming.

Registration Requirements

All Middle School and High School students attending school in North Carolina are eligible to join a team!

No experience necessary – racing is not a requirement!

Middle School Eligibility:

  • Student must be enrolled in middle school (grades 6-8), or the homeschool equivalent, and be no younger than 10 and no older than 15 years of age at any time during the entire school year;

High School Eligibility:

  • Student must be enrolled in high school (grades 9-12), or the homeschool equivalent, and be no younger than 13 and no older than 19 years of age at any time during the entire school year; and
    • Not have a high school diploma, general education diploma (GED), or otherwise be graduated from high school.

Homeschool Students:

  • Homeschooled student-athletes can participate with Composite Teams and shall be placed in categories that correspond to the grade level they would otherwise be enrolled in at their public middle school or public high school based on their ages. Team placement is based on what composite team serves the public school the student-athlete would normally attend.

Team Placement for All Students:

  • Team placement is based on where the student-athlete attends school and not on where the student-athlete lives.
  • North Carolina is not supporting Independent Ridership this season
